On April 19th, a delegation of four from the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang including Visa Officer BriAnna Bougouneau and Public and Cultural Affairs Officer Stanislas Phanord, visited Shenyang Jianzhu University to deliver a briefing on U.S. visa applications. The delegation was warmly received by representatives from our university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the International School. Nearly 100 students attended the event, who were from the Maharishi Ph.D. program, MSMIS program, and the School of Foreign Languages .
Prior to the event, relevant directors from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the International School introduced the university’s International Scholarly Exchange Curriculum (ISEC) undergraduate program, the Sino-American Information Management Master’s program, and the Sino-American Maharishi Ph.D. joint training program. They also shared details about the experience of Sean, an exchange student from Hilbert College in the U.S., during his time at our university. Both parties expressed hopes to invite more American students to participate in exchange programs at the university and discussed further expanding partnerships between our university and more U.S. institutions.
Following the meeting, BriAnna Bougouneau and her team conducted a detailed presentation for students in Room 301 of the Administration Building, focusing on U.S. visa application procedures. She covered various aspects, including visa types, preparation, and important points to note. During the Q&A session, students actively engaged with the speakers, making the atmosphere lively and interactive.
The visa briefing provided students with a deeper understanding of U.S. visa policies and presented a rare opportunity for face-to-face communication. Both students and faculty in attendance found the event highly informative, expressing that it offered valuable insights for their future studies abroad. They also expressed a desire for the university to host more events like this in the future.
