On November 20th, in order to deepen the exploration of cutting-edge higher education and promote educational exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States, the 2023 USA Respected College Graduate Programs Education Fair, hosted by the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang and organized by our university's International Exchange and Cooperation Office, was held in the gallery of Shenyang Jianzhu University. Prior to the event, Dong Yukuan, Secretary of the university’s Party Committee, met with the attending delegation in Meeting Room 203 of the Administration Building. The delegation included Stanislas Phanord, Public and Cultural Affairs Officer of the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang, Le Dali, Visa Officer of the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang, and Bill Goldstein, Director of the International Office of Maharishi International University. Xia Baishu, a member of the university's Party Committee and Vice President of the university, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Dong Yukuan extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from the U.S. Consulate General and Maharishi International University. He provided an overview of the university’s academic environment, discipline development, research achievements, international exchanges, and Sino-foreign joint programs. Dong expressed his desire to continue promoting open education in the future, strengthening educational exchanges and cooperation with U.S. universities, particularly in fields such as sustainable development, green architecture, and energy conservation. He hoped that the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang would continue to support our university's educational collaborations with U.S. institutions. Through this education fair, he aimed to open new avenues for international collaboration at the university, increase faculty and student exchanges between Chinese and U.S. institutions, deepen the friendship between the two countries, and seek common development for Chinese and U.S. universities.
Stanislas Phanord noted that cultural and educational exchanges are crucial in consolidating the foundation of friendship and bilateral relations between the two nations. He pledged continued support for educational exchanges and cooperation between our university and U.S. institutions, with a particular focus on enhancing international collaboration in areas such as cultural exchange and global climate change. Phanord also welcomed more Chinese students to study in the U.S. and hoped to see an increasing number of American students come to China to study and learn more about China. Le Dali emphasized that the consulate would continuously improve the visa service process for our university, providing convenient conditions for our university's faculty and students to visit the U.S. in future collaborative endeavors with American universities.
Relevant directors from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the International School also attended the meeting.
