On October 24, 2019, Party Committee Secretary Dong Yukuan and President Yan Weidong separately met David Gerlach, Lincoln College President and Dr. Jonathan Pierce, International Department Director. Vice-President Li Yupeng and the responsible person in Party and Government Office, Organization Department, Personnel Department, College of Foreign Languages and International Exchanges & Cooperation Department participated in the meeting.
Dong Yukuan first represented SJZU to express sincere welcome to the visiting delegation of President David Gerlach wishing mutual benefits and cooperation between two sides. Both sides deepened discussion and communication in the future cooperative areas as well as student joint cultivation and proposed to offer Chinese courses at Lincoln College. President David Gerlach introduced SJZU teachers and students' studies and lives at Lincoln College to Dong Yukuan in detail. Dong Yukuan appreciated Lincoln College's solicitude for them and invited teachers and students of Lincoln College to join the Chinese culture summer camp next year. President David Gerlach was willing to join it, showing that 20 American teachers and students will be sent to SJZU for exchanges next summer.
Yan Weidong briefly introduced the basic information of SJZU to the visitors and hoped to enhance cooperation in teacher exchanges and student cultivation. David showed appreciation for SJZU's warmhearted welcome and expressed the expectation for further cooperation in the future. Later, Weidong Yan and Gerlach signed 2+2 Double Bachelor's Degrees and Credit Mutual Recognition Project Cooperation Education Agreement and Student Exchanges Agreement between SJZU and Lincoln College.
