On April 24, the Party Committee Secretary Dong Yukuan and the Vice President Li Yupeng met with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Education Counselor Kim Yeonghwa, Cultural Counselor Heo Eunhyeok and their delegation.
Dong Yukuan first warmly welcomed the Counselor Kim Yeonghwa and the other members of the delegation. He introduced to the guests the basic conditions of SJZU such as the characteristics of SJZU's operation, professional advantages and development direction. He hoped that the two sides can maintain the profound friendship and strengthen cooperation in professional fields, personnel training, faculty exchanges and so on by making full use of the geographical advantages of both countries and grasping the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Counselor Kim Yeonghwa said that the DPRK is currently vigorously developing the national economy and is very eager for civil engineering talents and technology. He hoped that SJZU can exchange and cooperate with Pyongyang Architectural University in an all-round way to help DPRK cultivate architectural talents. Vice President Li Yupeng and key members of the DPRK delegation had a detailed consultation on the specific cooperation between SJZU and Pyongyang Architectural University.
