A few days ago, the 4th Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Confucius Institute Summer Camp, held by the headquarter of Confucius Institute held, began in Beijing. The Summer Camp is in line with "2019 China-CEEC) Education/Youth Exchanges" and is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Summer Camp was hosted by the International Exchange & Cooperation Department of SJZU, and all members of the Summer Camp including the students of the Transilvania University of Romania participated in the opening ceremony. Li Yupeng, Vice-President of SJZU, and thousands of teachers and students from 31 Confucius Institutes in 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe attended the ceremony.
Li Yupeng said that the Summer Camp is of great significance for enhancing mutual understanding and deepening collaboration in education and youth between China and Europe. SJZU will continue to play its advantages, and strengthen the construction of overseas Confucius Institutes in the "17+1" education collaboration. In the future, SJZU will further strengthen cultural exchanges and collaboration in the field of education according to the differentiated needs of CEEC, and continuously expand the "Friend Circle" of SJZU.
In 2012, China and CEEC jointly established the China-CEEC Collaboration Mechanism ("17+1 Collaboration"), which is an important foothold of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the past seven years, the "17+1 Collaboration" has formed an all-directional, wide-ranging and multi-level collaboration pattern, and has become a cross-regional collaboration platform to help the construction of countries along the Belt and Road, and promote the economic and social development of China and CEEC.
